Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Lead a team of Inventory Planners to drive profitability and manage inventory with comprehensive analysis of the business. Lead the planning and execution of the financial strategies to meet or exceed top line sales, margin, and inventory plans.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Rural King’s Thrive Leadership Program
  • Manage the Inventory Planners in forecasting sales and making recommendations
  • Oversee the reporting and analysis to purchasing teams to inform future strategies
  • Lead open-to-buy planning strategies that align to the company’s vision
  • Proactively identify and create solutions against foreseeable risks or opportunities
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal business leads and outside vendors
  • Strategically align inventory planning in collaboration with space planning for planogram reset strategies, while analyzing opportunities and exposure
  • Lead team projects to create and enhance planning tool capabilities and efficiencies
  • Articulate business situations and recommendations to senior management as required
  • Create a team environment that fosters new and innovative ideas
  • Demonstrate flexibility and positivity to respond constructively to new challenges
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4 years of experience in retail buying or planning, with open-to-buy experience
  • Management experience preferred
  • Proficient with Excel and Report writers as well as creating reports from multiple data sources
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate strong solutions-based skill set
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to lead positively through change
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of Inventory Planners

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to all audiences
  • Good visual acuity
  • Close vision for computer work
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
