Job Description

Job Title:              Paralegal            

Job Location:      Mattoon, IL



  • Assist Corporate Counsel on legal research projects in multiple jurisdictions, with specific knowledge and experience using Westlaw strongly preferred;
  • Prepare and maintain corporate and LLC organizational documents, actions, resolutions, and approvals;
  • Initiate and maintain corporate and LLC entity registration and qualification and annual reports in multiple jurisdictions;
  • Coordinate with other internal clients regarding real property tax assessments, and assist Corporate Counsel to prepare multi-jurisdictional appeals;
  • Assist Corporate Counsel in all aspects of real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including title review, document review, and closings;
  • Assist Financial Analyst with all aspects of third-party financing arrangements;
  • Under the direction of the Financial Analyst, coordinate with existing and prospective lenders regarding identification, preparation, and maintenance of loan documents for properties and other projects;
  • Assist business development personnel in the identification and procurement of new locations, and in the collection and maintenance of existing property records;
  • Assist Financial Analyst with administration of employee stock plan program;
  • Assist Corporate Counsel, and outside counsel as required, to initiate and respond to litigation and administrative pleadings and discovery requests;
  • Assist Corporate Counsel and coordinate with internal clients regarding IP registration, licensing, and protection in the U.S. and international jurisdictions;
  • Oversee and assume direct responsibility to initiate/coordinate entity business licensing and renewals in multiple jurisdictions; and
  • Together with Corporate Counsel, serve as an initial point of contact for internal clients on legal and regulatory questions and matters.  



  • 2-3 years of relevant paralegal experience;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Must be a self-starter, critical thinker, good listener, and ability to work under pressure at a fast pace.



  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Close vision for PC work
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
