Job Title:  Organizational & Leadership Development Director  

Job Location:  Store Support Center, Mattoon, IL

Reports to:  VP of HR

FLSA Status:  Salaried Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of the Organizational & Leadership Development Director is to lead the talent development strategy and processes to build leadership strength within the company and develop talent that builds upon a seamless, memorable associate and customer experience. This role is integral in aligning talent with Rural King’s brand, culture and long-term goals.

 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Lead a team that executes organizational and leadership development projects such as and not limited to job specific and technical training, leadership training programs, development plans tied to 9-Box and Succession Planning
  • Collaborate with leaders across departments to identify needs, design and develop solutions utilizing proven organizational development methods and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Bring forward strategic ideas for how OD/Learning can accomplish business goals and strengthen the development and performance of talent
  • Establish competency-based development processes to enhance productivity, profits and successful business outcomes
  • Lead our associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Thrive and reinforces Thrive skills with others
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5 + years of organizational & leadership development experience OR equivalent combination of experience and education is acceptable.
  • Key strengths are flexibility, fantastic communication skills, and huge amounts of drive
  • Strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
  • An experienced leader with significant retail experience
  • Experience with multi-state and multi-units
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
  • Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficient
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire on-boarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
