Job Title: DC Maintenance Manager

Reports To: Distribution Manager

Job Location: Waverly, OH

FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for facility maintenance for Rural King's distribution centers, as well as overseeing the management of company fleet equipment and DOT compliant semi tractors and trailers, and forklift maintenance.

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage DC facility and fleet maintenance responsibilities for multiple locations
  • Develop preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and maintenance costs
  • Plan and schedule the repair work for the maintenance associates to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, while reducing lost productivity
  •   Hire and make recommendations on employment status
  • Manage all DC maintenance associates
  • Train and develop maintenance associates
  • Ensure that all repairs are completed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner, such as servicing, diagnosis and repair of engine oil, transmission oil, rear and front differential oil, power steering oil, filters, air, fuel and air conditioning systems, wheel end assemblies, drive line assemblies and any internal components of the differentials, transmission or motor, industrial maintenance and electrical work
  •  Ensure exceptional safety of equipment & tools as well as cleanliness of the maintenance shops
  • Conduct Quality Control Inspections, track issues and issue resolution to ensure all tasks are properly completed and is in accordance with the Company's safety and compliance procedures and DOT regulations
  • Communicate specific work assignments and responsibilities to associates
  • Ensure inventory is secured, stored and only accessible to the associates in accordance to the company guidelines
  • Travel, as business dictates
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Must be flexible with hours: ability to work a 50-hour workweek with varied hours, days, night, and weekends as business dictates
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to take the initiative and able and willing to work without direct supervision
  • Computer and data-entry skills required; Microsoft Office

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage hourly associate and salaried truck shop managers at several locations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
  • Close vision for PC work
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
