Job Title:              Loss Prevention Associate

Reports To:         Regional Loss Prevention Manager

Job Location:      Store

FLSA Status:       Hourly Non-Exempt

                                                                                                                                               

JOB SUMMARY:

This associate is responsible for monitoring all loss prevention activities for the assigned stores, including shortage control, price changes, return to vendor transactions, receipt reconciliation, paperwork error control, and investigations and apprehensions regarding internal and external theft.  Additionally, the Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for training store associates on awareness and loss prevention policies and procedures.

 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Detects, deters, investigates, and resolves violations of loss prevention company policies and criminal activities

  • Controls the unexplained loss of merchandise and improves profitability

  • Monitors safety and risk controls

  • Trains associates on loss prevention policies and procedures

  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of loss prevention experience and/or investigative and security experience

  • Ability to interact with the team in a fast paced environment, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient

  • Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Focused on attention to detail, taking initiative, and working in a positive environment

  • Computer knowledge in Excel and Word

  • May be required to perform other duties

     

    MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:

  • General office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer.

  • Telxon gun, pallet jack, and other retail equipment.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate.

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
