Income Tax Accountant

Job Description

**NEW POSITION WE ARE ADDING TO OUR GROWING TEAM**

Job Location:  Mattoon, IL

Reports to:  CFO

FLSA Status:  Salaried Exempt

Exempt Classification:  Administrative

                                                                                                                                      

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for multiple states and multiple entities
  • Research and identify tax compliance obligations
  • Assist with tax planning and research
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly tax estimated payments, extensions, and tax analysis
  • Assist in preparation of journal entries for related tax transactions
  • Assist in preparation of annual and quarterly income tax provisions
  • Assist with general accounting and tax department functions as assigned
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance and 2 years of applicable experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Multi-state tax accounting experience preferred
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and partnership skills
  • Ability to generate and speak to financial reporting to management
  • Advance proficiency in MS Office, most notably Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Close vision for PC work
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
