Human Resources Manager

Corporate | Mattoon, IL Distribution Cntr | Full Time

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:  The Human Resources Manager is responsible for administering various human resources plans, benefits, compliance, policies, and employee relations.  



  • Administer various human resources related processes or initiatives and take a hands-on role with day-to-day human resource tasks
  • Manage benefit administration, included self-funded insurance and 401(k)
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries and markets
  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs that encourage associate alignment with company needs and provide motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance
  • Partner with Store Support HR to provide the stores with resources and training needed for effectiveness with HR-related matters and to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures
  • Utilize HR Information System (Mangrove) and other resources for analysis of the HR function and the people resources of the corporation
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions
  • Perform other related duties as required



  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 5 years broad HR Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Professional Certification of PHR, SPHR, or GPHR preferred
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficient
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with an HR system
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively



  • Good visual acuity and ability to communicate
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
