Job Title:  Helicopter Pilot

Job Location:   Store Support Center, Mattoon, IL

Reports to: Cody Lowe

FLSA Status:  Salaried Exempt

Exempt Classification: Professional



The purpose of the helicopter pilot is to the operate Robinson R44 and R66 helicopters on a schedule that supports business needs and maintain all standard procedures outlined in applicable FAA regulations and division policies.  In addition, responsible for determining flight routes, speed, and takeoff and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements. Conducts flights in the safest manner possible.



  • Responsible for flight duties including flying, evaluate weather, evaluate NOTAMs, pre-flight, fly, refuel aircraft, post flight duties
  • Maximum Duty day for flights will be in accordance with FAR part 135
  • Flight duty time begins 30 minutes prior to takeoff and 30 minutes after the completion of the last leg.  This time is for the required pre and post flight checks and planning.  
  • Plan, coordinator, advise requested flights and coordinate which helicopter is flown on scheduled flight
  • Coordinate which pilot has on-call duty for emergency/unscheduled flights and be on call for emergency and unscheduled flights
  • Ensure helicopter readiness when aircraft are not flying including maintenance, cleaning (inside and out), preflight, refueled, headsets operational, supplies stocked, and track helicopter flight hours
  • Track fuel in fuel farm, maintain fuel farm, refuel Jet fuel tank, coordinate with refuel Av Gas tank, change filters, and fix flat tires on jet tank trailer
  • Maintain helicopter carts and cart tractor
  • Responsible for cleaning of the hanger and maintaining heliport including pick up trash and lighting system
  • Responsible for helping customers while at the store, encouraging associates, provide VIP protection, security inspection, safety inspection, and advise VIPs of any store issues
  • Travel responsibilities include book lodging, rental cars, drive VIP’s, book helicopter hanger of ramp accommodations
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties


  • Experienced pilot with rotorcraft
  • Must have a FAA Class 2 Medical Certificate
  • Must have commercial rating for rotorcraft helicopter
    • Preferred: 500+ hours Helicopter, 200+ hours in Robinson R44 or R66,  25+ Hours Helicopter turbine .  RHC Safety Course completed in previous 5 years. 
  • Must have professional communications skills for complex internal and external aircraft communications
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
