Job Title: Feed & Pets Department Manager      

Reports To: Store Managers         

Job Location: 2800 N St. Joseph Ave

JOB SUMMARY:

The purpose of the Feed & Pets Department Manager is to drive sales. The department manager will lead a team of part time associates that will help maintain the area. The position also requires the ability to run skids of bulk feed, have an unrestricted weight lifting requirement and be comfortable handling live animals daily. 
 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Drive sales
  • Stock shelves and stock bulk feed
  • Inventory control - scan outs regularly and maintain in-stock
  • Customer Service
  • Caring for live animals        
  • Use general office equipment such as telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, computer        
  • May be required to perform other duties       

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of livestock preferred, but not required
  • Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Will oversee a team of part time associates in conjunction with the Store's Hardlines Assistant Manager

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to lift 50 lbs regularly 
  • Good visual acuity
  • Close vision for computer work
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively and professionally with all audiences (in-person or via handheld transceiver)
