Job Title: Distribution Center Human Resources Manager

Reports To: Vice President of Human Resources

Job Location: Store Support Center in Mattoon, IL

FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

Exempt Classification: Administrative

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing and executing our people initiatives, providing great internal customer support, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement for Rural King’s 2+ distribution centers.  

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Administer various human resources-related processes and initiatives
  • Take a hands-on role with day-to-day human resource responsibilities for Rural King’s distribution centers
  • Continually assess the competitiveness of all programs and practices against the relevant comparable companies, industries, and markets
  • Collaborate with others on the HR team to create a progressive and proactive compensation and benefits program that encourages associate alignment with company needs and provides motivation, incentives, and rewards for effective performance
  • Be an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Provide the distribution centers with resources and training needed for effectiveness with HR-related matters and to maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Demonstrate a strong customer service focus for both internal and external customers
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and human resources programs are consistently administered and aligned with organizational goals and are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements, and laws
  • Utilize the HR Information System and other resources for analysis of work hours, turnover, wages, schedules, and more
  • Travel to other distribution centers as business dictates
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least 5 years broad HR Experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Professional Certification of PHR, SPHR, or GPHR preferred
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficient
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with an HR system
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization
  • Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and effectively

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage 2+ human resources professionals at the Mattoon Distribution Center and the Waverly Distribution Center

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to communicate effectively to all audiences
  • Good visual acuity
  • Close vision for computer work
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
