Reports to:                          Director of Construction

Exempt Classification:       Administrative



The purpose of the Construction Project Manager is to oversee Rural King and RK Realty construction projects. They will lead the onsite construction team, be the liaison for all project stakeholders, and work with inspection authorities. The Construction Project Manager is responsible for making sure quality standards and safety compliance regulations are met and ensuring all site needs are met from start to finish.



  • Initiate scope of work and budget for construction projects
  • Conduct bid meetings with contractors
  • Organize and conduct pre-construction meetings will all subs and contractors
  • Review, become familiar, and adhere to project schedules and budgets
  • Adhere to the project timeline and ensure deadlines are met
  • Lead and oversee the onsite construction teams
  • Coordinate and oversee all work on site
  • Attend and contribute to production meetings
  • Ensure all quality standards are met
  • Monitor and ensure onsite safety compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness
  • Responsible for ordering and ensuring all materials and equipment are on site
  • Maintain records for site personnel such as daily field reports, field orders, and Request for information (RFIs)
  • Manage and perform onsite duties consisting of, but not limited to: Framing, demo, light construction, and punch items
  • Act as liaison with inspection authorities regarding approvals
  • Lead our associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Thrive and reinforces Thrive skills with managers reporting to you
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties



  • At least 8 years of commercial construction experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to work well under pressure and lead proactively, keeping projects within budget and quality guidelines
  • Proficient working with scheduling software
  • Experience with taking pictures and uploading to software
  • Skilled in interpreting and building according to drawings, specifications, and other documents
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing work environments, and oversee multiple projects at the same time
  • Willing to travel 65% of typical work schedule
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training



  • Supervise out-sourced construction crew and superintendents on and off site



  • Good visual acuity
  • Close vision for computer work
  • Repetitive wrist movements on keyboard
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs multiple times per day
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and to operate heavy equipment
