Job Title: Part Time Accounting Clerk
Reports To: Controller
Job Location: Store Support Center, Mattoon, IL
FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
This position provides accounting and clerical support for our stores and our internal accounting team. This role is a key contact between the Store Support Center and our retail stores.
JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Verify tax exempt certificates are properly filled out and retained
- Post general journal entries related to sales tax payments
- Remit sales & use tax on state websites monthly
- Process company-wide expense reporting and forward to accounts payable for payment. Apply general ledger distributions based on various types of expenses
- Process company-wide propane invoices and forward to accounts payable for payment. Apply general ledger distributions based on location
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Use general office equipment.
- Frequently operate keyboard to enter in information.
- Sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
- Verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).
- May be required to cross train and perform other duties
- Bookkeeping experience preferred
- Must be proficient in 10-key data entry
- Experience in Microsoft Excel required
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have attention to detail and be able to stay focused
- Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
- Ability to complete computer-based training
