Job Title:  Accounting Clerk / Bookkeeper

Reports To: Accounting Supervisor

Job Location:  Store Support Center, Mattoon, IL

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

                                                                                                                                      

 JOB SUMMARY

This position provides accounting and clerical support for our stores and our internal accounting team.  This role is a key contact between the Store Support Center and our retail stores.

 

JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Verify store deposits while maintaining speed and accuracy
  • Manage credit card chargebacks and returned checks
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers related to issues with reconciling payments and third-party financing
  • Assist with monthly bank reconciliations
  • Use general office equipment.
  • Frequently operate keyboard to enter in information.
  • Sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in 10-key data entry
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel required
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must have attention to detail and be able to stay focused
  • Ability to participate in our online applicant and new hire onboarding process remotely
  • Ability to complete computer-based training
