QA Engineer - 3 Month Contract

You’ve probably used our technology and didn’t even know it – as we work with some pretty big brands such as Compare The Market, GoCompare, Which?, Confused.com. Yahoo!, AOL, MSN, BT and many more, retail and financial services.

QA Engineer (Contract)

We’re looking for a contract QA engineer to join us here at Runpath to help us create and maintain a world class service for all our users. This will be an initial 3 month contract. We need someone who can hit the ground running and start adding value to projects straight away. They must be able to work under minimal supervision, have strong communication skills, and be experienced in all aspects of the STLC.

What you’ll do:

  • Take ownership of projects from a test perspective
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Product Managers, and Developers in order to complete projects on time and to a high quality
  • Define and create the required documentation for your project as well as being responsible for final testing sign off
  • Create and maintain test plans for both our new and existing sites
  • Regression sweeps across all of our apps
  • Work closely with the QA Lead to identify and address areas of risk within your projects and define how to address them
  • Act as a key point of contact for any projects you are assigned to keeping all key stakeholders up to date with progress
  • Help prioritize bugs and work cross-functionally with Developer/Project/Product teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Self-starter comfortable working in a distributed environment
  • Extensive experience testing web apps in a variety of browsers
  • Experience creating and maintaining test plans
  • Excellent understanding of software product lifecycles
  • Ability to clearly articulate risks and issues to relevant stakeholders
  • Willingness drive the process of removing blockers to testing themselves rather than waiting for others to do so
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong background in manual testing e.g. exploratory testing, regression testing etc.
  • Experience at using tools such as Postman and Browserstack
  • Ability to isolate defects effectively, as well as provide specific conditions for reproducibility
  • Meticulous and detail orientated
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Can handle a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities at the same time
  • Experience with agile test tools and methodologies
  • Automation experience a bonus
