The Position

The Department of Health and Human Performance at Roanoke College invites applicants to fill a nine-month, visiting assistant professor position in Sport Management. The department is housed in the state-of-the-art facility, the Cregger Center, with exceptional research and classroom space.

Primary teaching responsibilities will include both core and elective courses within the Sport Management curriculum, and may include contributions to the general education curriculum of the College (as applicable). Teaching load is 8 courses or course-equivalents per year; course re-assigned times are available to faculty as needs arise. Additional expectations include providing service to the department, and candidates are supported in their scholarly research and professional pursuits. The Department and the College value excellence in teaching at the collegiate level and an interest in teaching and mentoring at a liberal arts college.

Candidates should have earned a Ph.D. (or equivalent; ABD considered) in Sport Management or related field. Applicants with a Master’s degree and relevant industry experience will also be considered. Applicants should show evidence of, or the potential for, excellent teaching at the collegiate level.
