Mail Services Assistant

Job Description

To perform routine duties pertaining to Mail Services and assist in the supervision of that department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the training and supervision of the student workers
  • Performs routine duties as needed such as sorting, boxing, pick-up, delivery, forwarding and metering of mail
  • Follows through on instructions set forth by the Manager
  • Assists in keeping accurate records
  • Responsible for assignment of campus mail boxes and the proper distribution of the related information
  • Stays abreast of all mailing regulations
  • Assists the coordination with processing all types of mailings
  • Responsible for maintaining a pleasant, professional working relationship with all customers, coworkers and campus community members
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or mandated by the position

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to read numbers correctly
  • Ability to use computer-based productivity software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Pitney Bowes SendSuite, etc.)
  • Previous experience in a mail room preferred
