Job Description

The Roanoke College Data and Integration Specialist develops and maintains reports and programs for departments across campus to help the College meet its strategic goals. S/he is instrumental in assisting users on data reporting, creating reports and data management for the College. S/he helps interpret data and develop recommendations based on those findings. S/he will ensure up-to-date, efficient manageable and secure data system and foster superior quality, efficiency and ongoing reliability of data integrity. S/he provides regular training to database users.

Key Responsibilities:

•Acquires and abstracts data from existing internal or external data sources and manage those systems that store this data.

•Develop and maintain reports

•Work with clients to generate and manage project requirements by studying user workflows.

•Develops and maintains various programming projects using a diverse set of languages and tools.

•Daily troubleshoots issues reported by clients.

•Fosters superior quality, efficiency and ongoing reliability of data.

•Provides daily data analysis in the support of clients.

•Regularly trains users to utilize tools to effectively obtain information from database environment.

•Establishes and supports new application/services that support the mission of the College.

•Writes and maintains training documentation.

•Uses effective communication with managers, coworkers and clients.

•Provides excellent client service and consulting

•Solves problems creatively and keeps up-to-date with new technology

•Follows College policy

•Adheres to regular attendance

•Knows and follows data information security policies

•Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

•Bachelor’s degree in related field

•Higher Education Experience

•Experience with enterprise systems

•Experience with database reporting

•Experience with project management

•Experience with providing computer application and reporting training

•Previous data analyst experience

•Ability to focus and be productive, work independently and on teams in a fast-paced environment with high level of service, communication and production demands.
