Production Director

Production | Central Ministries | Full Time | From $75,000 to $85,000 per year

Job Description


Position Summary

As part of the Creative Team at River Valley Church, the Production Director is responsible for leading the production team to obtain and sustain a standard of excellence in weekend services, special events, and other elements of production across River Valley.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Production Director is required to perform a range of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Broadcast Services

    • Responsible for the execution of excellent broadcast service production

    • Have a working knowledge of all audio, video and lighting systems for support and operation.

    • Be the point person for questions, troubleshooting and service details

  • Special Events

    • For church-wide events occurring on-site, the production director will be expected to work with department representative(s) for the event to learn the plan and vision. From there, he/she will identify the scope of production involvement necessary to successfully execute the event.

    • As necessary, collaborate with the communications, video, and worship departments on production-related elements necessary for the event.

      • Discuss and organize equipment rentals, construction projects, design details, etc. to ensure all logistical aspects are planned.

    • Fulfillment of the project event plan, which includes facilitating the production with vendors as applicable.

    • Debrief with pertinent departments after each event.

    • Collaborate with the other creative departments on production-related elements necessary for event.

  • Maintenance/Upgrades

    • Work closely with the video, audio, and lighting leads to manage all repairs and upkeep for equipment as needed at any River Valley campus

      • Receiving requests from Campus level and responding in a timely manner

      • Research what is necessary for repairs and maintenance needs

      • Purchase and/or send in items for repair

    • Respond to desires that are expressed from the campus level for updates needed on a variety of campus equipment.

      • Research the need and put together a project plan for initial design.

      • Obtain pre approval for the cost of the upgrade, put together a concept proposal and once approved, create a purchase order.

      • Once the order is received, manage the integration and installation of the new upgrade or scheduling a third party to assist.

  • Song Production

    • Oversee in-house music producers

    • Collaborate with River Valley Worship and River Valley AGES along with in-house producers on original music

  • Stage Design

    • Collaboration with creative team to brainstorm new and innovative looks for all campus stages.

      • Managing third party vendors for equipment orders and necessary construction projects.

    • Installation and implementation of the new stage design, stage layout and production needs.

  • New Campus Implementation

    • Oversee all new system design and implementation at new campuses

    • Learn facility capabilities, research necessary equipment, and make recommendations to leadership on equipment purchases-including cost-effective saving options as needed.

    • Work with all applicable vendors – from obtaining bids to completion of work as hired

    • Oversee production staff who are involved in implementation

Team Leadership

  • Serve as the culture carrier for the Production team, conveying vision and values of River Valley Church

    • Assure the staff adheres to established policy/procedures and guidelines

  • Oversee the Audio & Video Leads, as well as Central Production Tech

    • Responsible for managing, hiring, and development of direct reports

    • Be available to assist Leads with management elements of the broader Production team

  • Regularly evaluate, gain feedback from team members, and seek out new trends in the industry, ensuring the team is working effectively and efficiently



Qualifications

  • Proficient as an audio technician

  • Experienced in all things video and in lighting programming

  • Understanding of equipment purchasing and research

  • Have a strong understanding and awareness of safety protocol

  • Ability to train and lead others

  • Proficient in Google Suite


Experience

Successful candidate should have at least 6-8 years related experience.
