Ripcord is the world's first robotic paper digitization company. We’re going after the outmoded, but very large paper records market (think, medical records, company HR records, company financial records, legal case files, etc). For 30 years the world has been talking about the paperless office, but have yet to realize it. Our mission is to be the company that takes the world paperless. We are doing this by building a first of its kind robotic machine and software platform that will completely transform the records management market.

You will be a lead mechanical engineer and system architect overseeing the design, build, and test of a wide-range of automation systems. This will involve mechanical design of custom components, system integration requiring knowledge of  standard automation hardware (robots, actuators, sensors, etc.), and vendor management as we source and build these systems. You will work directly with the other hardware team members to innovate and solve the many challenges inherent to our process as we continue to push the state of the art forward. 


  • 7-10+ years of industry experience required 
  • Strong background in mechanical machine design is required
  • Prior work in machine design, automation, robotics design, thin film handling, or manufacturing systems is preferred
  • Solidworks experience required
  • Prior experience in volume manufacturing of automation systems preferred
