Ripcord’s Automation team continuously seeks to develop and deploy the state-of-the-art automated systems and technologies necessary to digitize the world’s paper. Leveraging a platform of technologies including robotics, computer vision, and machine learning, we thrive on integrating leading edge technologies into our manufacturing environment.
Reporting into Ripcord's CTO, our next Director of Engineering, Automation will play a pivotal role in Ripcord's growth over the next few years. In this role, you’ll drive automation research & development, guide and develop a team of multi-disciplinary engineers, work cross-functionally as a key stakeholder in Ripcord’s international expansion strategy, and implement right-sized processes as we scale.
What You Will Do
Manage, lead, and develop a team of multi-disciplinary engineers
Implement standardized hardware development processes leveraging best practices developed in previous roles
Integrate experience and expertise beyond hardware to guide the development of flexible automated systems
Manage and build external relationships with key manufacturing partners and component suppliers
Actively collaborate with leaders from Product, Software Engineering, Operations, Security, and the Office of the CEO to set and execute on top business priorities
Develop and implement data-focused framework for support and continuous improvement of deployed systems
Apply deep understanding of best practices in technology innovation and delivery to lead R&D of new automated systems and technologies
What You Will Need
About 8+ years of experience designing, managing, and supporting complex hardware technology at scale. Experience with industrial automation and manufacturing is preferred.
Ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team driven by a culture of collaboration and productivity
A demonstrated focus on quality and on-time delivery with a playbook to prove it
Experience working on large scale hardware deployments involving multiple internal and external stakeholders
A degree from an engineering discipline like Mechanical, Software, or Electrical engineering is highly prefered
