Senior Computational Geometry Software Engineer

The Role:

We’re looking for an experienced software engineer to help build an automated CAD to full-physics robotics simulation pipeline. In this role, you’ll interface with cross-functional teams to rapidly design and deploy state-of-the-art robotic work cells to customer sites. This role will significantly impact RIOS’s digital geometry workflow, an essential part of scaling and growing the company. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement workflows to automate the design of state-of-the-art robotic work cells. 

  • Work with roboticists and vision experts to automate robotic work cell design validation for new customer applications. 

  • Work closely with the RIOS data science team to structure and export CAD data for machine learning pipelines.

  • Understand requirements for internal and external manufacturing partners to enable quick-turn fabrication of work cells. 

Qualifications:

  • BS, Masters, or Ph.D. in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.

  • Expert in C++ and/or Python. 

  • 3-5 years experience with modern CAD implementations, with the knowledge of accessing low-level data using APIs. Additionally, candidates with computer game design or AR/VR experience will be considered for the role. 

  • An understanding of manufacturing techniques and how to make designs manufacturable given the constraints of various fabrication techniques.
