POSITION/TITLE: Operations Research Analyst                      

DEPARTMENT: Operations Research

FLSA: Exempt 


Reddwerks develops and sells Warehouse Management System (WMS), Warehouse Control System (WCS), and Conveyor Control System (CCS) software for some of the largest users in the world, including four of the top ten retailers in the US, the largest distributor to convenience stores, and one of the largest parcel and logistics companies. Deploying Reddwerks v4.0 starts with our systematic, mathematical, and science-based analysis of customers’ needs, we call “Distribution Science.” Headquartered in Austin, TX, our software has been deployed in more than 60 high-volume distribution centers throughout North America.


  • Master’s degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or a substantially equivalent field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a substantially equivalent field.
  • Master’s GPA at least 3.0 or above, 3.5 or higher preferred
  • Preference will be given to those who have taken the following courses:
    • Simulation
    • Linear Programming
    • Nonlinear Programming
    • Integer Programming
    • Dynamic Programming
    • Stochastic Processes
    • Supply Chain/Logistics/Warehousing/Transportation
  • Skills in:
  • Data parsing and manipulation
  • Simulation modeling
  • Mathematical modeling of processes and systems
  • Mathematical optimization (algorithm development) of processes and systems
  • Inferential statistical analysis
  • Linear and non-linear regression modeling experience
  • Return on Investment (ROI) analysis
  • Risk analysis
  • Object-oriented programming skills: Java (preferred), C++, Python, VC++ or Matlab
  • MS Word and PowerPoint


  • Process design for supply chain applications in warehouse environments
  • Understand, analyze, and document existing operations/requirements
  • Define data to gather to complete required analysis
  • Data parsing, processing and profiling
  • Develop simulation models in Java programming language
  • Develop enhanced/optimized solutions for existing processes
  • Develop optimization algorithms for proposed solutions
  • Write project proposals for distribution center operations detailing recommended solutions
  • Justify financial investment in proposed solutions
  • Provide technical support to internal sales during pre-sales cycle
  • Provide technical support to software engineers during implementation cycle
  • Travel to customer sites nationwide (possibly international) depending on phase of project
