Bookkeeper – Accountancy Practice | Shoreham-By-Sea

We are looking for a Bookkeeper with strong practice experience to join our growing team in Shoreham-By-Sea.

What you’ll do

• You will maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients and the practice

• You will process invoices, receipts, payments, and journals

• You will reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash

• You will prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements

• You will manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing

• You will assist in producing management accounts and financial reports

• You will liaise directly with clients regarding queries, deadlines, and documentation

• You will work closely with accountants and finance colleagues to support client needs

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice

• Proficiency with cloud accounting software – Xero (highly desirable), QuickBooks, or Sage

• Strong Excel and IT skills

• Knowledge of UK VAT and payroll processes

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• A proactive, detail-focused approach, able to work independently and as part of a team
