Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department
  • Reconcile all accounts relating to finance, banking, credit, and charge accounts
  • Maintain system of controls over accounting/financial transactions
  • Issue timely, accurate and complete financial statements monthly/yearly
  • Coordinate the preparation of corporate annual reporting for all financial activities; banking, retirement, payroll and employee/commercial insurance
  • Daily bank deposits and management of any financial needs
  • Maintain chart of accounts
  • Comply with local, state and federal government tax reporting requirements
  • Ensure AP is paid in a timely manner and reasonable discounts are taken
  • Ensure AR is managed in a reasonable manner to be collected promptly
  • Audit elective insurance benefits; work closely with insurance provider and Human Resources to ensure accuracy between employee deductions and billing
  • Maintain staffing levels of the accounting department through the hiring process
  • Administer employee wage and performance reviews for the accounting department
  • Follow RCII’s policies as outlined in the Team Member Handbook
  • Participate in lean manufacturing activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience with 3+ years of progressive responsibilities with comparable duties in a business office environment
  • Strong team player, works well with others or independently
  • Self-motivated, strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of general ledger relationship to financial transactions
  • Strong accounting and general math skills
  • Strong analytical and communication skills verbal and written
  • General computer knowledge and previous experience in Microsoft software including Excel calculations/spreadsheets, Word and Outlook
  • Strong leadership and management abilities
  • Infor Visual experience preferred
  • Strong sense of team; high level of integrity and loyalty; goal driven; good sense of humor; respectful of others; embraces RC Industries values, expectations and ideas
