Accounting supervisor/ senior accoutant

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision & Leadership

    • Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants, AP/AR clerks, and other team members (Outside party)

    • Assign tasks, review work for accuracy, and provide performance feedback.

    • Foster a collaborative environment with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.

  • Accounting Operations

    • Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger postings, and reconciliations.

    • Ensure proper documentation and internal controls are followed for all financial transactions.

    • Create journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.

  • Month-End / Year-End Close & Reporting

    • Collaboration in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met.

    • Support internal and external audit requirements, including coordination with auditors.

  • Compliance & Controls

    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory standards.

    • Maintain and improve internal control procedures.

    • Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.

  • Process Improvement & Systems

    • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance automation.

    • Collaborate with IT/finance teams to optimize ERP and accounting software functionality.

    • Support cross-functional initiatives related to finance, operations, and compliance.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or CMA preferred).

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.

  • Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite).

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Important: this person must have big 4 experience
