Tableau Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tableau Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining a user-friendly, interactive, and customizable dashboard solution that enables key stakeholders at AHCA to monitor Medicaid population health metrics, medical and pharmacy claims, provider performance, and more. The role demands strong data visualization skills and experience working with healthcare datasets in cloud-based environments.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Tableau development with a focus on healthcare or Medicaid data.

  • Proficiency in SQL Server, SSRS, and cloud environments such as Azure or AWS.

  • Experience working in Agile teams and handling interactive dashboard projects.

  • Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and performance optimization for visualizations.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Must have experience working with the Florida AHCA or recently supported AHCA projects.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and deploy advanced interactive dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau based on business requirements.

  • Implement drill-down capabilities to enable analysis at various levels (member cohorts, providers, services, etc.).

  • Visualize data related to population health, cost drivers, high-risk populations, chronic conditions, preventative care, and social determinants of health.

  • Develop reporting tools and templates, including pre-built and ad-hoc reports aligned with AHCA’s strategic goals.

  • Collaborate with data engineers and business analysts to integrate multiple data sources including claims, pharmacy, and external datasets.

  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CJIS, and internal IT security standards.

  • Participate in system testing, UAT, and present findings to the Agency.

  • Document technical specifications and visualization workflows.
