Exciting things are happening! The State is gearing up to build a brand new, state-of-the-art long-term acute care hospital, with completion expected in 2028. This 100-bed, 140,000 SF facility will replace the existing hospital, providing a much-needed modern space for patient care and rehabilitation. With several key stakeholders and vendors involved, we need a senior project manager who can steer this complex project to success. If you’re a seasoned professional who’s passionate about healthcare facilities and has a knack for driving large projects forward, we want you on our team!
As the Senior Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in making sure this project stays on track, on budget, and meets all clinical and programming needs. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Leading and participating in stakeholder meetings, ensuring everyone is aligned and accountable.
- Crafting clear and impactful presentations for senior government leaders.
- Tracking project timelines and budgets, providing weekly updates on progress.
- Supporting the development of the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), contract negotiations, and evaluating trades packages.
- Keeping an eye on contingency funds and change orders, helping to keep costs in check for the State.
- A Registered Architect or Engineer with a strong background in architecture or engineering.
- At least 20 years of experience in A&E design, project management, and facility commissioning, with a focus on healthcare or hospital-related projects.
- Proven success in managing complex projects with a mix of public and private sector stakeholders.
- Solid experience in project budgeting, estimating, and managing schedules.
- A deep understanding of the construction process and how to navigate the complexities of large-scale projects.
- Ideally, you’re local to Rhode Island, able to meet in person and visit the site as necessary.
- Flexibility with hours to accommodate evolving project needs.
This position will start in the summer of 2025 and continue through the building’s commissioning phase. We’re looking for someone who can commit 5-15 hours per week as the project progresses.
