Network Technician

Information Technology | St. Paul, MN | Contract | From $20.00 to $25.00 per hour

Our Technology support to many DoD Agencies, NASA, Voice of America, FDA, and State Agencies such as State of FL, RI, MS, ND, VA, and WV extends our delivery of solutions worldwide.

Position: Network Technician

Location: St. Paul, MN 55101

Duration: 5 Months plus

Required skills

  • Experience installing or replacing physical network switches and ports in enterprise network environments.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure deployments and installations.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Experience supporting wired and wireless connectivity environments.
  • Experience documenting technical work performed using notes, pictures, spreadsheets, or similar methods.
  • Experience transporting, staging, and installing network hardware and equipment.
  • Experience communicating technical issues and work status with engineers and technical teams.
  • Experience working with General low voltage power, multi-media connectivity, and SolarWinds.
  • Experience reading blueprints and floor plans.
  • Experience promoting an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values culture and diversity among all employees.
  • Ability to work onsite at multiple locations throughout the 7-county metro area, both indoors and outdoors.


Desired skills

  • Experience supporting System Engineers with network connectivity troubleshooting and infrastructure deployment activities.
  • Experience identifying, transporting, securing, and delivering network hardware and infrastructure equipment.
  • Experience assisting with infrastructure equipment layout and installation activities.
  • Experience communicating planned work completion, installation concerns, and technical issues with project stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Experience providing knowledge transfer and cross-training to team members.
  • Experience working in field-support environments requiring travel between multiple locations.
  • Experience working in public sector, transportation, or large enterprise environments.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with technical teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting and completing installation activities.


Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma/GED AND four or more years of relevant work experience; or an Associate or higher degree OR two-year college/technical school certification AND two or more years of relevant work experience
  • Cisco Certification (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
  • Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ-900 or equivalent).
