Network Operations Manager

Job Description


Job Title: Network Operations Manager (WAN/LAN/SD-WAN)

Duration: 9 Months

Location: Austin, TX. 78752

Mode of work: Hybrid - On Site and Telework


Description:

Provide leadership and oversight of Network Services operations, including WAN, LAN, wireless, SD-WAN, and network security platforms

Oversee daily operational activities, including incident management, problem resolution, and service availability

Serve as escalation point for high-priority network and infrastructure issues

Coordinate and prioritize workload across Network Services teams, including infrastructure and security-focused functions


Support ongoing and planned initiatives, including:

  • SD-WAN implementation and optimization

  • Network monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Thousand Eyes, AppDynamics) Security integrations (e.g., Secure Workload, NGFW, identity services)

  • Provide vendor coordination and oversight for network-related services and contracts

  • Ensure compliance with Agency security standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in change management processes and ensure proper documentation and approvals

  • Collaborate with Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center, Telecom, and Security teams to support cross-functional initiatives

  • Provide status reporting, risk identification, and mitigation planning to leadership

  • Maintain documentation of network architecture, processes, and operational procedures

  • Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the return of the permanent Network Services Manager


Must have:

  • 7+ years (Required): Proven experience performing supervisory and management responsibilities, including providing clear direction to team members, fostering collaboration, and motivating teams to achieve organizational goals.

  • 7+ years (Preferred): Hands-on experience in administration, maintenance, and design of Cisco VoIP solutions, ensuring reliable and scalable voice infrastructure.

  • 5+ years (Preferred): Demonstrated experience managing networking teams within highly complex, enterprise-level environments.

  • 5+ years (Preferred): Strong experience in implementing and supporting 24x7x365 network, voice, and video environments, ensuring high availability and operational continuity.
