Description:

Under general supervision, responsible for ensuring timely materials goods movements, accurate and appropriate storage and movement of products and inventory accuracy. Also responsible for other daily operations functions of the warehouse which includes various clean-up and housekeeping activities. High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred. Two years of related experience in material handling required. Experience working in an operations environment is preferred, including knowledge and use of handheld scanners and lift truck certification. Job will also require the performance of other duties and activities as directed.

  • Past or current IATA and DOT certifications are required.

  • Chemical handling certifications (Hazwopper, Chemical hygiene, handling hazardous chemicals) are highly encouraged.

  • Candidates will need experience in handling and storing chemicals including hazardous chemicals.

  • Some examples include compressed gases, flammable liquids, oxidizers and corrosives.

  • Candidates will also need experience in preparing these hazardous chemicals to be transported via air for international destinations and over the road for domestic US destinations.

  • This includes using DOT and IATA regulations to properly pack, mark and label packages with all the relevant hazard markings as well as provide dangerous goods documents when applicable.

  • Bill of ladings for US domestic shipments (DOT certification) and dangerous goods declarations for international shipments (IATA certifications).

  • Candidates will also need to know how to read a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and be aware of the components of each chemical and how to handle, segregate and store each chemical in a warehouse environment.
