Job Description

Position Title: Behavioral Health Therapist

General Description:

Provides assessment and intake evaluation for QOPC while being co-located at SSM WISH Center. Provides parenting education and other transition services for pregnant and postpartum women (PPW) enrolled in the HFP. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team for all women enrolled in Project: HERS. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes outreach, referral, intake and assessment for QOPC while being located at SSM WISH Center
  • Responsible for efficient delivery of parenting services to clients according to approved policies and procedures meeting DMH and CSTAR standards
  • Assists clients in establishing treatment plan, goals, objectives, as well as other functional aspects of their personal planning in the recovery process
  • Maintains clients' charts, records and files regarding goals, evaluation and updates in accordance with DMH and CSTAR standards
  • Provides individual Substance Abuse and Mental Health counseling and evaluation
  • Facilitates group meetings and program components as needed
  • Pursues continuing professional development, joins appropriate professional groups and attends pertinent meetings
  • Attends all staff meetings and keeps abreast of program and client status, updates and chages
  • Provides case program consultation and makes appropriate referrals
  • Assesses, updates and revises client's progress and treatment plan per DMH and CSTAR standards, or as needed


A counselor, psychologist, social worker or physician licensed in Missouri who has at least one year of full-time equivalent experience in the treatment or rehabilitation of substance abuse field. A bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of human services with three years' experience in the chemical dependency field. Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or closely related field and two years' experience in treatment of substance abuse OR an alcohol, drug or substance abuse counselor certified by the MSAPCB, Inc. preferred.

Supervisory Relationships:

  • Reports to Clinical Director
  • Collaborates with agency staff

Amount of Travel/Special Conditions:

  • Travel as needed to carry out components described in goals and objects of HFP
