Sr. Accountant
Finance | HQ- San Francisco, CA | Full Time | From $105,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy of the Company’s accounting records and completing the monthly close in a timely manner. Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements. Additionally, the role requires self-sufficiency, an attention to detail, a deadlines-oriented approach to workload and communication with the accounting team and cross-functional teams.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities and deliverables, including preparing journal entries, GL reconciliations, balance sheet and P&L flux review and analysis, and reporting (Primary 40%)
- Investigate and research GL account variances and discrepancies, including intercompany transactions as needed (Primary 10%)
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure all bank transactions have been recorded and all cash accounts and bank statements are reconciled for all Entities (Collab 5%)
- Prepare and manage sales tax return filings, VAT filings and reconciliations – (Primary 15%)
- Coordinate with business partners as needed on various accounting related items, including accruals (Primary 10%)
- Assist in financial reporting and other accounting tasks as needed (Collab 10%)
- Assist Controller with any other duties/projects as assigned. (Collab 10%)
Budget Owner: No
Fiscal Accountabilities: The Sr. Accountant identifies ways in which Quay can improve the Company’s profitability by identifying efficiencies.
Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 base; bonus eligible
Work Location: San Francisco Hybrid; in office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays
Key Working Relationships: This role must maintain strong working relationships with all internal business partners.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2-5 years of prior experience in a same or equivalent role
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Proficiency in GAAP and IFRS concepts
- Ability to critically analyze Balance Sheet and Income Statement transactions.
- Strong / advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communicator across all levels of the organization. Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to present information in a meaningful & concise format.
- Highly organized, with strong multi-tasking skills to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities and demands.
- CPA and/or candidate preferred, but not required.
- Consumer products industry and/or NetSuite experience a plus

0%-5% minimal travel required.
Physical Requirements:
- This position is based in an office environment. Primarily sedentary work with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
