Senior Accountant

Job Description

Major Purpose:

The Senior Accountant will maintain and ensure the accuracy of the Company’s accounting information and records. This role will primarily be responsible for preparing, recording and reconciling balance sheet and profit and loss entries as well as assist in building financial models.

Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy of the Company’s accounting records. The position will report directly to the Controller. The candidate must have a strong understanding of accounting rules and financial statements. Additionally, this candidate must be self-sufficient, have attention to detail, be deadlines oriented and can communicate with the Controller on a regular basis to ensure that all responsibilities are met. Principle Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense entries
  • Reconcile transactions and resolve discrepancies
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Assist Controller in booking all accruals
  • Assist in month, quarterly and year end close
  • Build Financial Models, if necessary
  • Reconcile monthly Sales tax
  • Review all leases for retail spaces to ensure the Company is in financial compliance retail spaces to ensure financial compliance
  • Maintain rent and construction schedules for all Retail Shop locations
  • Assist in Change Order requests
  • Communicate with partners (internal and external) regarding billing discrepancies
  • Reconcile direct to consumer sales to cash and resolve discrepancies daily
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year end close, including recording journal entries
  • Assist in other accounting projects, as needed

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • GAAP and IFRS understanding
  • Ability to under and analyze Balance Sheet and Income Statement transactions
  • Strong excel skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Consumer products industry experience a plus
  • NetSuite experience a plus
