Property Manager

Property Manager | South Wichita, Kansas | Full Time

Job Description

A growing affordable housing company is seeking a property manager in the Wichita area to provide an exceptional living experience to our residents. The ideal candidate should enjoy customer service and working with the public. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the community including, but not limited to, leasing, community programs, rent collection, and maintaining and improving the community. While prior property management experience would be a plus, it is not a prerequisite for the position. **Cover letter and resume are required.**

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Attracting and retaining residents
  • Processing move-ins/outs efficiently; maintaining high occupancy/low vacancy and keeping accurate and thorough records (both electronic and physical files)
  • Collecting and processing rent
  • Verifying that households meet income restrictions as well as affordable housing program requirements
  • Certifying/re-certifying residents to comply with HUD rules and regulations
  • Conducting quality inspections to verify and document proper upkeep of the property 
  • Working side by side with maintenance staff and contractors to ensure excellent physical condition of the property 
  • Resolving resident issues
  • Organizing community events for residents; network with local or area community services to bring these resources to residents
  • Inputting vendor invoices into Quickbooks
  • Initiating evictions or lease violations as needed
  • Maintaining accurate records of work order requests and unit turnover in internal company database
  • Submitting monthly reports and statement to regional manager timely and accurately.


  • Enjoy working with people and have a track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook; comfortable using a computer to routinely perform job functions
  • Minimum of 1 year experience performing administrative work in an office setting (e.g. office manager, tax or accounting professional)
  • High School Degree

Extra consideration given to candidates with:

  • Property management experience
  • Affordable housing experience; candidates with subsidized, public housing, low income, tax credit, HUD and/ or section 8 experience will receive a strong preference, particularly section 8 experience
