Responsibilities:

Wooly McDuff’s Neighborhood Grille is looking for a motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable General Manager to lead all aspects of the restaurant. The General Manager will maintain the restaurant’s revenue and profitability goals while meeting quality and customer service standards. The ideal candidate will have proven work experience in a restaurant or hospitality managerial role. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Operations

    • Coordinate Front of the House and Back of the House daily restaurant operations

    • Plan and execute weekly menu specials

    • Order and inventory of all food and supplies

    • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste

    • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas

    • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, and federal/state/local laws

    • Create detailed reports on a weekly, monthly and annual basis

  • Customer Service

    • Deliver superior customer service to maximize customer satisfaction

    • Respond to and resolve customer complaints

  • Training/Employee Management

    • Manage kitchen staff and waitstaff schedules

    • Recruit, hire, terminate and ensure professional development of team members.

    • Train new and current employees on proper food handling and customer service practices

    • Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity

  • Marketing

    • Promote the restaurant in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events

    • Seek out ways to reach a broader audience (community partnerships, social media, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Manager, or similar role

  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge

  • Strong communication, leadership, motivational, and people skills

  • Ability to supervise 10+ employees per shift
  • Financial management skills
  • ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification (or within 90 days of hire)
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification (or within 90 days of hire)

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with restaurant management software (POSitouch)
  • BS degree in Business Administration, hospitality management, or culinary schooling a plus but not required
