Accounting Clerk

Job Description

As a vertically integrated holding company we have an operations team with in-house legal, accounting, finance, technology, marketing and human resource capabilities. Our business interests are predominantly focused in Real Estate, Real Estate Services, Health and Wellness, and Consumer Products.

Responsibilities:

  • Record, scan and save invoices for accuracy and appropriate approvals, prepare invoices for payment
  • Investigate disputed credit card transactions and respond to chargebacks
  • Support for store staff to resolve issues or questions with booking system
  • Manage company credit cards to ensure expense reports are submitted timely and follow-up for missing data
  • Assist with the month-end close process by providing relevant journal entries, reviewing and investigating anomalies
  • Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts which consist of but not limited to: petty cash and cash deposit reconciliation for all store locations, credit card reconciliation, bank account reconciliation
  • Review inventory audits to ensure sign-off is completed by store managers
  • Supporting regional operations (A/R & A/P)
  • Make account transfers, credits, adjustments, and other transactional support of operations

 

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of Finance or Accounting experience, retail environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in Finance or Accounting is preferred, recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Must have an investigative mindset
  • Good analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data
  • Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail and time management/organizational skills
  • Works well under pressure, accepts responsibility for own actions and follows through on commitments
  • Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Should have intermediate Excel skills to manipulate and analyze data exported from POS software or other resources (vlookup, pivot tables)
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
