Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of PM/Field experience in water plants, pump station, wastewater plants, industrial facilities, and mechanical. The ideal candidate will also have experience running a project as the Project Manager, managing owners, and managing the project team. Candidate will also be capable of managing single and/or multiple jobsites in a demanding, fast paced environment with a wide scope of work. Experience with HeavyBid with knowledge of Excel, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office a plus. Experience contributing to bids to DOTs and State/municipal entities is highly desired. Ideal candidates possess strong personal initiative, excellent planning and problem-solving capabilities, and effective interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with quantity takeoffs, pricing and bidding of water/wastewater plant projects
  • Often works in conjunction with other members of the bid team to prepare accurate proposals
  • Capable of assisting with both hard bid and conceptual estimating
  • Work to develop and manage a strong working relationship with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ability to select and solicit high quality suppliers and subcontractors
  • Able to review project documents for value analysis/engineering suggestions
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other topographical and geographical data
  • Manage both cost and schedule for both self-performed and subcontracted work
  • Liaise with owners, subcontractors, and other internal and external contacts
  • Select subcontractors through bid analysis and ensure contract issuance prior to commencement of work
  • Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Review and approve project invoices, to ensure vendor and subcontractor payments
  • Confer with upper management to ensure all work procedures and constructability issues are resolved with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and designers
  • Evaluate weekly construction methods, determine cost-effectiveness, and discuss any concerns with Project Superintendent
  • Impact through review, coordination, submission, and tracking all project submittals
  • Manage construction work plans including form/pour drawings, major pick plans, and layout of pipe/equipment/conduit
  • Manage job cost reports for all projects involved
  • Manage project progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and safety standards
  • Track, manage, and submit claims

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in water plants, wastewater plants, and industrial facilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to provide quantity takeoffs and pricing from technical drawings
  • Proficiency with BlueBeam and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Working knowledge of HCSS preferred
  • Federal contracting experience a plus
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Working knowledge of DBE compliance for bids a plus
  • Knowledge of Smartbid and Sharepoint a plus
  • Ability to meet fast-paced, changing schedules and priorities for bids
  • Keen awareness of industry recommended practices, OSHA requirements, equipment, and QA/QC
