Phinge™ is developing a first-of-its-kind software platform including an OS, cloud solution and consumer, business and social media applications. Responsibilities

  • Protect the company’s IP and work to execute Phinge’s IP strategy
  • Provide general administrative support for Phinge’s patent, trademark, copyright, domain name and overall intellectual property programs
  • Maintain a solid understanding of USPTO trademark and patent rules and procedures and US CO copyright office rules and procedures
  • Organize patent, trademark, and copyright portfolio, set up new docket management systems, implement new IP-related processes, assist with renewals, and support aggressive defense of brand
  • Maintain a working knowledge of some foreign trademark and patent law
  • Review and analyze IP search reports
  • Drive best practices to both leverage and protect IP
  • Collaborate with the legal and business teams in R&D, product, marketing, sales, operations, and security to collect information and materials in support of our patent, trademark and domain name processes
  • Manage deadlines and facilitate filing of documents and materials in support of Phinge’s patent, trademark and domain name needs
  • Proactively partner with the legal team and others to learn and share best practices for information sharing, knowledge-management and collaboration tools
  • Assist with reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, including non-disclosure agreements, releases, and influencer agreements
  • Offer support on administrative matters related to running legal operations
  • Manage corporate compliance processes
  • Execute special projects and tasks as assigned and in collaboration with other team members

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of paralegal experience
  • Proven ability to build relationships and work effectively and confidently at all levels of an organization, including interaction with senior management
  • Willingness to learn and team-oriented nature
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Effective time management in a fast-paced environment while managing deadline pressures
  • Tech-savvy, with the desire and ability to learn and master new tools and processes
  • Familiarity with common intellectual property docketing systems
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and experienced at successfully multitasking
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paralegal certification
  • Experience as a paralegal or administrative specialist in the area of intellectual property law (ideally both in a law firm and in-house)
  • Commissioned Notary Public a plus
