REQUIREMENTS: The Intake Coordinator person provides initial contact with all clients, which may include the following: Provide initial interview with all clients, either self-referred or professionally referred. Implement a wide variety of psychological interventions to meet clients’ immediate or urgent needs, including crisis management, providing referrals, problem solving, and mental health case management. Determine client’s status, needs, and diagnostic impression (when possible).
All services provided will be person-centered and culturally competent. Intake Coordinator must demonstrate patience with clients, be aware of culturally appropriate behavior and its effects on the responses of his/her clients, and be flexible according to the needs of the client. This role works very closely with psychiatrist, ANP and other health care personnel to ensure continuity of care.
- EDUCATION: Masters degree from accredited college or university, LCSW or LPC required, 2-3 years in a mental health setting and supervisory experience preferred.
