Staff Accountant

This is an entry-level position requiring 1-2 years of experience. The Staff Accountant will perform a variety of general accounting functions under the supervision of the Accounting Manager and/or the CFO.

Responsibilities:

  • All retail store accounting
  • Prepare journal entries
  • Complete general ledger operations
  • Assist in monthly closings and preparation of financial statements
  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
  • Draw up monthly financial reports
  • Prepare analysis of accounts, as needed
  • Assist with year-end closings
  • Review all AP expense billings for g/l coding accuracy
  • Prepare tax computations and returns
  • Assist in budget and forecast preparation
  • Provide payroll back-up
  • Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences
  • Prepare account and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
  • Assist with implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent preferred
  • 1- 3 years of accounting experience
  • Knowledge of basic financial principles and financial reporting
  • Proficient in relevant accounting software preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required
