DevOps Engineer

Project Description:

We have multiple development streams and have enough of a need for a full-time DevOps Engineer to further mature our tooling and processes. We want to find the diamond in the rough... However, if you believe you can knock the ball-out-of-park with 70-80% or more with the technologies, stacks, applications, languages, and more... we would love to speak to you too!

Position Responsibilities:

This position would script and automate the environmental setup and workflow for ongoing development. These same tools would be leveraged to augment our production operations environment, adding to existing systems monitoring and remediation processes.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modification, security, and upgrading of IT systems and components.

  • Implement development-ready containers that can run on local machines or in a distributed and secure development cloud.

  • Create, manage, and optimize build scripts, deployment scripts, and configuration management tools.

  • Identify and implement tools for automating performance, security, regression, and functional tests.

  • Communicate implementation progress multiple times daily.

  • Troubleshoot issues across the development lifecycle, from development environments to production systems.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing production and development efforts in a fast-paced environment with varying client needs.

  • Keep technical implementation on time and within budget.

The following skills are required:

  • Authorized to work in the US

  • Containerization and virtualization using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, EKS, AKS, and/or VMWare

  • Orchestration using Ansible and Terraform

  • 5 years of experience with AWS and Azure managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with Jenkins Pipelines

  • Mobile, Web, and Desktop application operations experience

  • Experience with Application Performance Monitoring tools like New Relic

  • Backing up and restoring databases

  • Comfortable with the command-line
