PARC Sensor Systems and Electronics Research Engineer
About the Job
PARC’s Hardware Systems Lab seeks a research engineer to join a cross-disciplinary team developing flexible and printed sensors and systems. Applications include distributed sensing for the IoT, wearable and other biosensing systems, brain stimulation and measurement, and others. Responsibilities of the role include one or more of novel sensor development and testing, sensor interface and power electronics design, firmware development, and sensor signal processing.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in electrical engineering, computer engineering or similar field with a focus on custom sensor or sensor system development. Comfort with PCB-level electronics design and sensor signal processing are required. Specific experience with biosensors, gas sensors, or neural interfaces is highly desirable. In addition to supporting ongoing efforts, PARC research staff have opportunities to work on multiple projects and develop their own research ideas.
Applicants must possess at least a majority of the following qualifications:
An interest in developing novel sensor systems
Experience architecting and implementing embedded sensing projects
PCB-level analog and digital circuit design
Sensor signal processing
Experience developing micropython and/or C/C++ embedded code
Low power electronics and communication protocols (e.g., BLE)
The ability to work independently
In addition, experience with any of the following experience is highly desired:
