Semantic Segmentation of Video Summer Internship
internships | Palo Alto, CA | Full Time
Deep Semantic Segmentation of Activity Demonstrations
About the Job
PARC’s machine learning group develops interactive applications powered by machine learning techniques which can cooperate with humans to achieve real-world tasks. Currently we are developing a field coach that can visually recognize situations and user intentions in the real world and provide assistance to users through directions and augmented reality overlays. We have tested the framework on an application that helps users configure features, perform regular maintenance and repair faults in printing devices and are currently expanding to other applications. The project provides a stimulating environment to work with an interdisciplinary team that combines deep computer vision, probabilistic reasoning, natural language dialog management and augmented reality.
We are looking for summer interns interested in exploring the automated extraction of procedural knowledge from video demonstrations. Within this space there are several subproblems including segmentation of video, generalization of video trajectories, and semantic labeling.
Interns will have the chance to develop algorithms on our internal GPU servers, deploy them on augmented reality systems and publish in leading venues.
PhD Candidate in Computer Science, EE or Related field
Demonstrated experience applying novel deep learning based computer vision methods to object detection, video segmentation, semantic labeling and / or captioning work
Interest in scientific research and publication with track record of publication
Familiarity with Anaconda/Python and Keras/Tensorflow or pytorch frameworks
Intern benefits include 401K, Relocation and Holidays
