PARC Firmware Developer: Autonomous IoT Device Firmware Development and Optimization
About the Job
PARC seeks an embedded firmware developer to join a cross-disciplinary team developing multi-modal data collection IoT devices. Responsibilities of the role include the development and optimization of IoT Device routines focused on sensor data collection, implementation of analysis algorithms, transmission of data, OTA implementation, and device power management. The developer should have an electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or similar background with a focus on custom low-power device development.
Applicants should have a BS with 5+ years of industry experience or an MS with 2+ years of industry experience.
Applicants must possess at least a majority of the following qualifications:
- An interest in developing long-lifetime IoT devices for use in harsh environments.
- Experience developing C/C++ embedded code for multiple different types of MCU's.
- Experience architecting and implementing complicated embedded projects.
- Experience with RTOS implementation
- Experience evaluating the impact of code changes on device resource (i.e., power) consumption.
- Experience implementing different communications protocols across component devices.
- Familiarity with high level programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Ability to read schematics and data sheets.
