Deep Text Analysis

PARC is seeking students with background in deep learning, text analysis, deep recurrent neural networks, and related fields (such as machine learning and topic modeling). Successful applicants will work on a range of projects involving semantic text analysis using deep recurrent networks. These projects include user modeling, anomaly detection and knowledge grounding.

PARC researchers harness leading scientific developments to create high impact real-world breakthroughs. They work in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues, partner with academia and work with leading brand name companies around the world. The Machine Learning group at PARC is a growing research group with expertise in statistical machine learning, probabilistic graphical modeling, computer vision, data mining for big data, diagnostics, and simulation. Efforts in the ML area cover a range of technology maturity, from advanced algorithm formulation all the way to embedded software implementation on physical hardware platforms. The ML group has led or played a key role in projects spanning various application domains such as  cyber security, fraud detection and insider threat detection; learning and analytics for the internet of things and smart products; health care analytics and decision support; and business automation systems for both electronic and physical real-world tasks.
 

Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and deliver innovative approaches, algorithms, methods, and models
* Design and deliver software prototypes
* Participate in scientific community by staying up to date on the frontier of science and publishing significant papers on theory and applications
 
Requirements
* Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
* Experience in machine learning, deep learning, text analysis and deep recurrent neural networks
* Experience in scientific programming, algorithm design and development
* Commitment to developing quality software, with experience in Python, Java, C++, R, or other high-level programming languages
