Advanced undergraduate or graduate student in statistics, engineering, or the physical sciences.

About the Job:

The Hardware Systems Lab is studying residential energy consumption. We seek to draw useful information from smart meter data. We are seeking a creative and motivated student with understanding of basic statistics and physical machines to help further our research.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with databases
  • Research into basic appliances in the home
  • Basic statistical analysis
  • Simple physics-based analysis


  • Advanced undergraduate or masters student in statistics, engineering, or the physical sciences
  • Previous experience with Matlab or a similar tool
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
