Job Summary

The Director, Human Resource Operations is both a strategic and hands-on role leading and facilitating the planning and execution of multiple HR functions. Reporting to the Vice President, People, Culture and Operations, this role will directly manage the HR operations function, including payroll, analytics, reporting, and the HRIS. The Director, Human Resource Operations has experience in designing efficient HR processes and operations and a talent for analyzing complex data and telling the business story as well as solving problems through the data. The role will be responsible for all processes and HR systems.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Be a key contributor and lead in the redesign, modernization, and streamlining of HR business processes.
  • Lead the management of the suite of HR systems, including monitoring, identifying needed enhancements or changes, providing recommendations on additional technology.
  • Develop and implement policies, standard operating procedures, and practices partnering with the broader HR team.
  • Own and manage all people operations “processes” including employee relations, leave of absence, AAP/EEO reporting, compliance and regulatory requirements, communication channels; and as PPM scales, ensure that processes evolve appropriately.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all internal and external audits to ensure all findings are addressed and processes, policies and procedures accurately are documented and reflect PPM’s ways of working.
  • Provide support to the HR Business Partners and HR Leaders aimed at enhancing compliance and awareness of company policies and procedures.
  • Key contributor in the redesign and streamlining of HR business processes. Identifies potential areas of opportunity with respect to employee engagement/retention, compliance, HR quality improvement, HRIS systems and formulate a recommendation and implementation plan for addressing.
  • Lead the development of the Analytics and Insights strategy and reporting approach (employee demographics, skills inventory, employee turnover).  Analyze metrics and trends to show health of the organization as it relates to quality of hires, promotions, performance, attrition, diversity, etc.
  • Produce and/or analyze and monitor applicable metrics to make appropriate operational business decisions, conduct process-mapping and continuously improve HR operations.
  • Oversee completion of Affirmative Action Plan, local labor requirements and facilitate the corporate compliance training requirements.

 

Qualifications

  • Previous Human Resource Operations experience modernizing and enhancing systems and processes.
  • Experience translating people strategies and impact to clients; supporting them to integrate practices into their flow of work.
  • Strong consulting skills and can lead complex work through influence, collaboration, and subject matter expertise.
  • Has effectively supported clients transform and integrate modernized people practices.
  • Experience working within a fast paced, growth organization.
  • Experience in a startup environment a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long stretches of time in front of a computer.
  • Ability to adapt schedule to the varying time zone needs of the broader organization.
  • Willing to travel across North America to spend time in client locations up to 25%
