Osmia Organics is a growing natural skin care company in Carbondale, CO. We make all of our products (soap, skin care, and natural perfumes) at our facilities. We are very passionate about educating people about healthy personal care products, and we are proud to create luxurious, beautiful products with extraordinary, consciously-sourced ingredients.
We are looking for another team member to help us in our soapmaking department. We need someone dependable, efficient, very detail-oriented and neat, with a strong work ethic. We have a great team, and are looking for someone with a huge supply of positive energy and willingness to get the job done with a big smile.
Note regarding physical demands:
To perform the essential functions of this job successfully, team members are regularly required to stand, reach, handle small objects, sit, walk, kneel, or crouch. Team members must be able to stand and bend for up to ten hours on some days. Employees regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds, frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more weight with another team member. Safety masks must be worn during any production activities that generate dust or fumes and ventilation must be on. Employees are required to follow safety measures while performing daily work and learn new safety procedures as our equipment and work space evolve.
One last note: Our workplace must be free of all synthetic fragrance, from laundry detergent to perfume to hair care, as well as any tobacco smoke residue.

-Preparing lab and soap areas for production (using sterile technique in lab)
-Measuring raw materials correctly and refilling containers
-Heating oils and preparing soap ingredients for production
-Learning the basic science of soap making, and the production standards we uphold
-Becoming proficient and self-sufficient over time in our methods of making soap
-Cleaning up after production, including dishes and surface/floor cleaning
-Spraying and sanitizing containers -Labeling products, ingredients, and other materials precisely
-Organizing for the next day's tasks
-Assisting with inventory, restocking, and materials storage
-General store cleaning and lab area cleaning
-Assembling shipping boxes, breaking down shipping boxes, lifting large boxes
-Helping receive raw materials and cataloging them properly
-Follow standard processes for different production activities
-Assist in cataloging standard processes and updating existing procedures
We will happily train the right applicant - soapmaking experience is not required.
Problem solving skills - as we scale up the business, we need energetic, positive, solution-based thinkers to implement changes to help grow the company
Extreme attention to detail, and an ability to learn on the fly
Neat handwriting and strong organizational skills
Math skills for measuring and conversions
Ability to follow basic data entry procedures on a computer (training provided)
Familiarity with Gmail and Google Docs
Positive attitude with an intention to contribute to the business and help your coworkers
Fluent in English
Legal US residency
- Starting pay is $15-$18/hour, depending on experience. Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week. Benefits such as a 75% contribution to monthly premiums for health insurance, wellness stipend, and paid time off available after initial 3-month evaluation period.
