POSITION SUMMARY:

The Technical Delivery Manager will be responsible for managing the projects and relationships between our customers and Optimus’ teams. The incumbent will also be responsible for the overall planning, management and completion of IT deliveries from initiation through the entire Project life cycle. This role is accountable for the delivery of concurrent customer engagements and for managing IT schedules, project risk, resourcing, and inter-team communications. The incumbent uses project management skills to assess the accuracy of business, functional and technical requirements, manage project roles, identify resource requirements, clarify and refine project deliverables with the customer, provide customer satisfaction, and ensure quality of projects.


The ideal candidate has a Technology background in development across multiple platforms, applications and industries and proven technical project delivery experience. The Technical Delivery Manager must demonstrate high regard for customer success and knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including  Agile methodologies.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and manage the delivery of customer technology project deliverables from beginning to end

  • Define technology project scope and deliverables that support the customer’s business goals in collaboration with Optimus’ local and global technology teams

  • In collaboration with the team, develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents as required.

  • Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to both the Customer and our team members in a timely and clear fashion

  • Facilitate and own requirements gathering and assist local and global teams with the creation of project deliverables, as needed

  • In collaboration with  project team, estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.

  • Set and continually manage project expectations with the customer and our team members

  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path

  • Plan, schedule and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools

  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans

  • Facilitate and own the creation of technical design documents for complex projects, by interfacing with Technical Architects, Developers, QA Analysts, and others, as needed

  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work

  • Conduct project post mortems and sprint retrospectives and create recommendations in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements, and implement corrective measures in future projects

  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management

  • Leverage business knowledge and expertise to drive business process improvements. Take ownership and pride in driving these initiatives, despite organizational structure

  • Work closely with other members of the leadership team to identify new technologies and approaches that are hot and should be strategically pursued by Optimus

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years of professional experience in technical delivery management, business analysis and software development, including:

    • 5+ years experience managing project deliveries across multiple applications and technologies and,
    • 5+ years of development experience, preferably full-stack

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in technical discipline, preferably computer sciences

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, customers, managers, and subject matter experts and ability to negotiate

  • Excellent hands-on knowledge of project management methodologies/process including requirements management, analysis and design, testing, implementation, deployment, change configuration, and management, etc.

  • Effective leadership skills to plan, develop and implement projects, as well as, lead project, monitor, evaluate and assess progress

  • Strong presentation, facilitation, analysis, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and rapidly-changing environment

  • Highly result oriented with resourcefulness

  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and, diligent and work with a sense of urgency

  • Demonstrated experience managing or delivering IT Projects within local and off-shore teams

  • Strategic thinking, analytical, organizational, and planning skills

  • Strong ability to lead others (direct and indirect) – motivate, negotiate, and persuade others

  • Ability to identify and manage numerous shifting priorities, deadlines and resource issues to achieve results

  • Excellent customer-facing ability and customer service skills
