Practice Leader - Data Analytics

We are investing in a strong partnership with Microsoft to build world class Data Analytics practice on Microsoft platform.  We are seeking a leader to lead that practice.  You will be directly responsible for growth and profitability of our Data Analytics practice. As Practice Leader, you are expected to provide leadership on multiple dimensions.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in IT consulting preferably Data Analytics,  will have a proven track record in thought leadership, quality centric customer solutions and on-going, trusted advisory relationships with top executives and CXOs. The right candidate will be recognized for their ability to develop major client relationships through their professional network and through marketing and branding initiatives of Optimus. In addition, the candidate will have demonstrated a commitment to building a practice and proven success in developing high performing teams.

The Practice Leader will report to CEO. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to join a world class consulting organization and be a member of the core leadership team.

This position is in our Vancouver office. All applicants located outside of Canada or without a valid Canadian working permit will not be considered.


  • Core member of senior leadership team.

  • Be responsible for P&L.

  • Build senior level advisory relationships with existing and potential  BI / Data Analytics Clients; convert relationships with executives into long-term relationships that extend across multiple assignments over time.

  • Leverage disciplined approach to developing new business development activities and compelling pursuit strategies in support of aggressive growth plans.

  • Help recruit, develop, and retain professionals – both new hires and existing team members - to support the firm’s ambitious growth targets for the Practice.

  • Play a role in Brand Building  by presenting at industry conferences and representing Optimus before external audiences as appropriate.

  • Work collaboratively with other practices and geographic regions to ensure that Optimus continues to operate effectively as one leading organization.



  • At least 10 years of IT Consulting experience

  • Bachelor degree preferably in Science / Engineering

  • Demonstrated ability to build a consulting practice / be part of core team of consulting practice

  • Proven ability to lead and operate successfully in a collaborative, matrixed global organizational structure.

  • Industry eminence and contributions to thought leadership, publications, white papers and industry conferences.
